Vaulty Manor proved the ideal setting to say ‘I do’

The Proposal

In October 2020, the couple visited the Shropshire Hills for their first mini break since lockdown, and although it was raining, a surprise awaited Kate. “Hardly anybody else was around and when we finally reached the top, Shane got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.”

Choosing Vaulty Manor

The pair were unsure where to tie the knot, but soon found Vaulty Manor, their ‘perfect venue’, and were set on it after their first visit. The rustic-style barn won them over, and the fairy lights wrapped around the beams all year round made the ceremony room even prettier. “I was always one for ‘When you know, you know’ and that really did happen with Vaulty,” said Kate.

Planning a Vaulty Manor Wedding

With the venue chosen, it was time to start planning – a daunting task for some – but Vaulty’s experienced coordinators advised the couple, making their planning process a breeze. “Georgia in particular, our on the day coordinator, was so accommodating. She was on hand throughout, helping  to answer any questions I had,” said Kate.

Kate and Shane’s Big Day

Soon enough, Kate and Shane’s big day came around, and luckily, their special day was not affected by Covid. On the morning of their wedding, Kate made use of the spacious bridal suite at Vaulty, available to brides on the morning of their wedding, and got ready with her mum and bridesmaids.

The couple made their vows in the ceremony room, opting for an aisle runner scattered with petals, ivory vertical drapes on the chairs with a pretty brooch, and a spray of greenery and fresh cut flowers on the chair-ends. The registry table sat beneath an elaborate garland of ivory, greenery and pastel pinks that highlighted the couple’s colour scheme. “Katy Jacks the florist is so talented and helped bring my vision to life!” said Kate.

After the ceremony, photographer Rebecca Farries captured fantastic family and confetti shots, with Vaulty’s beautiful countryside surrounds in the background. Kate and Shane were snapped outside Vaulty’s Manor House, with Kate showing off her gorgeous bouquet of pink and white roses surrounded by eucalyptus, and the pair were also pictured walking down Vaulty’s gravel driveway flanked by trees.

When photography finished, Kate, Shane and their guests retreated to Vaulty’s rustic-style reception room for their wedding breakfast, speeches and party! The couple chose oval-shaped tables, with ornate eucalyptus wreaths as centrepieces, their cake sat atop a pile of delicious doughnuts, and Vaulty’s in-house caterers provided a scrumptious three-course meal.

A Highlight!

For the father of the bride speech, Kate’s dad had a special surprise in store. “I’m a huge Friends fan, so he played a cameo recording from actress Maggie Wheeler (Janice) wishing us the best,” Kate said. In a complete coincidence, the best men also played a video for Inbetweeners fan Shane. “The best men surprised Shane with a Cameo video from actor James Buckley (Jay) – as you can imagine, funny with a touch of inappropriateness!”

Vaulty Manor as a Venue

Kate and Shane loved everything about Vaulty Manor, praising the spacious grounds, the help they received on the day, and the beautiful manor house where their closest guests stayed overnight. Kate also highlighted, “The outdoor space is great! We had reception drinks out on the patio overlooking the fields; you can’t get any better than that! I also can’t thank the staff behind the scenes enough that helped set up and provided food and drinks.”

The venue also allowed Kate and Shane to make their day their own. The couple hired a photobooth for their guests to take fun pictures, as well as garden games that were laid out on the lawn for all to enjoy. “It was important to us that we were able to offer something different for those who didn’t want to be on the dancefloor all night.”

Vaulty Manor offers an extensive list of recommended suppliers, rustic-style ceremony and reception rooms and overnight accommodation on-site for up to 45 guests. To find out more about weddings at Vaulty Manor, visit http://www.vaultymanor.co.uk/
