Shabby chic is ultra-cool when it comes to country weddings. Create the look by decorating your venue with pretty bunting, old apple crates, straw bales and paper pompoms to achieve the look.

Decorate tables with old jam jars, finished with lace and twine and fill with wildflowers to display around your wedding venue.

Head over to a vintage furniture store and pick up a rickety stepladder and transform into your table plan! Decorated with fairy lights, add a seating plan to the structure so everyone knows who sits where.

Transform a battered old leather suitcase into somewhere guests can leave their wedding cards. Display a sign or mini bunting reading “cards” so your guests know where to place their envelopes.

Make the most of your wedding venue’s surrounds. Hold your drinks reception in the gardens, offer cups of tea in vintage china and serve finger sandwiches and cream scones.

Find a friendly farmer and arrive in style to your big day in a tractor! This is great fun for groomsmen and is an ideal ‘prop’ for getting standout wedding photos.

Fresh cut, garden flowers are an affordable choice to decorate your wedding tables. Search for vintage vases, old milk bottles or small watering cans to place your flowers.  A hand tied posy of flowers is also perfect for the bride, bridesmaids and maid of honour.

If you’re feeling creative, why not set-up a pre-wedding party for your friends to get together and help you make bunting? If you’re nifty on a sewing machine, bunting is easy. Simply collect pretty-pastel fabrics to cut with pinking shears into triangles and sew onto a ribbon.
